Replacing a crumbling pier in Dittisham – Part II

Continuing on from our last news article (click here) about replacing the pier at Dittisham . . .

So the steel frame of the pier was complete. Next the deckboards were to be added. We used Tilon composite decking for the pier, which was easy to work with and good quality whilst still being cost effective.

Finally, some landscaping works were required at the landward end of the pier, including turfing and some railings. This finished off the whole project and the customer is very happy with the results. The pier was in full use over the Regatta week this summer, and is much admired by everyone. The project took place in a tricky and environmentally sensitive location but with patience, skill and expertise, we got the job finished and all signed off in August 2023.
